WORK ESSENCE

“I am passionate about my work with Actors, and wish to help them create the most natural vocal expression. I seek to hear a voice that is free of inhibition, authentically informed by inner life and spirit, utterly true to the instinct of the moment, and touched by the organic creativity that fires the conviction of the word and thought. This is the essence of PERSONA ~ a voice that is unmasked, revealed through the body, and completely credible.”

“Each one of us has a voice that is at the core of our humanity. If we disregard its power, we risk losing the blueprint of our identity. Furthermore, we each have a unique signature note which lies at the heart of our physical being. If we do not breathe and cannot sound the fullness of this note, we become imbalanced, disenchanted and lacking in harmony.”

THE AUTHENTIC VOICE

“Throughout the ages, mankind has expressed the very nature of community and essence of culture through the aural traditions of story-telling, ritual chanting, singing, and discourse. Through these actions the potential creativity of our voice was kept alive in our bodies. However, the scientific developments of the last three centuries have stifled the power of our voices within us, encouraging us to produce a sound that is merely cerebral.

Today, our young are unfamiliar with the great literature of yore. The sensations of reading aloud and feeling the words of great writers moving through their bodies is diminishing, as an essentially visual culture takes over. Therefore, we are in danger of losing the ancestral lines of our traditions, which guided both our secular and sacred voices.

My work attempts to illuminate the creative potential of the word within the speaker, and to help restore balance between that which is thought in the head, and that which is felt in the body.”

“Our voices tell our life stories, they are the very blueprint of our psyche, and therefore how we use our voice can utterly change our lives”
